Small and Clever Productions is a trading name of Small and Clever Ltd.

This privacy policy explains how we use any personal information we collect about you when making our programmes or other content for publication or broadcast.

What information do we collect about you?

We collect information about you when you are a contributor to one of our programmes or other published content. We usually ask you to sign a form which sets out the uses of the contribution and the rights of the company to use your contribution once you have signed the form. On some occasions, for instance when it is difficult or impractical to ask you to sign a form, we may ask you to record your consent and your details on a video or audio recording which we will later transcribe. When we make content for a third party, for instance when we make a video which will be published on someone else's website, we will not keep any information about contributors and instead it is the responsibility of the third party to obtain contributor consent and to keep their details secure.

How will we use the information about you?

We collect information about you to record your consent to appear in one of our productions. We may contact you about your contribution, for instance to check some information with you or to let you know when your contribution is being transmitted or published. We will not give your personal information to anyone outside our organisation without your consent, unless required by law. We will not share information about you to anyone within our company unless it is in relation to the production you consented to appear in.

Access to your information and correction.

You have the right to request a copy of the information that we hold about you. If you would like a copy of some or all of your personal information, please email or write to us at the addresses given below. We may make a small charge for this service.

We want to make sure that your personal information is accurate and up to date. You may ask us to correct or remove information you think is inaccurate.

GDPR and the basis on which we keep information about you.

Consent to appear in one of our productions is not the same as consent for us to keep your personal information. We have to ensure that we keep your information for one of six reasons as defined in the GDPR legislation. One of these reasons might be quite simply that you have consented to us keeping your details. Another might be that we keep your details for legitimate business reasons, such as contacting you to check information before transmission, or if for instance a programme is being repeated, to check if things have changed. We will tell you (usually on a ‘consent form’ which we ask you to sign) on which basis we are keeping your information.
